I started the combined professional Doctorate in Integrative Medicine & PhD program at Quantum University in Honolulu, Hawaii way back in 2017 because I was receiving many referrals for psychological treatment but actually, the person had a complex presentation and was chronically ill. I realised I needed to know and be more because my existing skill set was not enough to deal with the complex and chronic presentations that were coming.
I was inspired to study at Quantum University because their approach draws on quantum theory and applies this perspective to healthcare. In the beginning, I hoped this was the new knowledge and skillset I was seeking. I discovered the concept of quantum fields was very similar to the Dreamtime of Indigenous Australia. This encouraged me more. The individual’s lived experience of symptoms, creativity and meaning making are all important in facilitating recovery in addition to finding the right therapy, intervention, remedy or medicine.
I finally completed my dissertation in April 2025 and attended the Graduation Ceremony in Honolulu on 10 October 2025. The ceremony was beautiful and gratifying. It was opened with a Kahu blessing. You can scroll down to see the YouTube record.

Each graduate was given an opportunity to speak to the family and friends gathered to witness. Being Australian, I was not expecting this and had to improvise. It was delightfully shocking to look out on so many faces who only wanted to serve, heal and help humanity and then realise, I was one of them. I was humbled.
The title of my dissertation is “Recovery from intergenerational trauma using quantum field entanglement: A therapeutic case study” [DOI: 10.69573/jqsc.2026.4.1.21-85].
Intergenerational trauma is something I see across all socio economic groups in Australia and it does impact health directly and indirectly. My dissertation highlights the importance of the role of observer in both healing and transformation of states of ill health. Turns out, it is important to know who, the one who sees you, is but more importantly, how they see you. Physical medicine can do many things, but transforming the gaze of the one who sees you … is purely the domain of psychology.
On 5 February, 2026 my dissertation was published in the Journal of Quantum Science of Consciousness. Click to download the file in pdf or click on the Abstract.
